Remote PC Support Grason
provides Remote PC (sometimes called "Remote Desktop") support
using a number of Internet-enabled technologies. The methods
used for each client will depend on a number of factors, such as
whether they have a Support Subscription, have a Managed VPN
Service, or are On-Request Support Client. (For more information
on the pricing and availability, please contact our
Sales Department.)
For On-Request clients, Grason uses the
services of proven Internet technologies and hosted services
which provide 24x7 worldwide availability. We have complete
confidence in the facilities provided by our partners; we are
currently working with eBLVD.Com who provides us with their
proven technology as well as award-winning customer support
services.
The steps for obtaining Remote PC
Support are outlined below:
- Logon to your Windows 2000, XP or Vista
computer as the "Administrator".
- Make note of your computer's IP Address and
Name. The name is found in Control Panel >> System >>
Network Identification. The IP address is used if you have a
Static (i.e. permanent) address.
- Browse to
http://websupport.grason.com and scroll down to the link
for Grason RemotePC.
- Then click here for
Remote Host Setup when you are on the telephone with our
support representative.
- Together we will be installing a small
program which identifies your Windows computer to our
systems. It will work thru most firewall settings, so there
will be no need to change any other configurations.
Here are some notes for the installation:
- Your HOSTNAME
will be the Site ID we have assigned to your location and
PC. It will look something like "IBM10022-021". This
information tells us the name of the customer, the zip code
of the location, and the IP Address of the PC.
- The PC DESCRIPTION
is for the name of the user, or other types of descriptive
information.
- The PASSWORD
will be the password we assign for access to the PC.
- On the Options
form, we will need to set the option which includes "Windows
login support".
- On the Security
form, the 2 options should be check-marked.
- On the Advanced
form, the speed should be set to Local Area Network.
The entire typically requires 4-5 minutes,
and does not require a reboot !!
