How to Use the WebSupport Portal

The Grason WebSupport Portal is a 24x7 all-electronic facility which is provided for all clients of Grason Software & Systems, Inc.

Access to the facility is at no charge and clients are encouraged to visit as often as needed. The WebSupport Portal is intended to provide basic information about computer technology as well as links to specific information which will help your organization. The WebSupport Portal, however, cannot replace two additional elements which are required for efficient operation of computer-based technologies:  (1) hands-on consulting assistance and (2) management oversight.

Since the portal is intended to satisfy your needs, feel free to forward your suggestions to us. There are many tools available for the Internet and we are sure we can either adapt or create one tom provide the services you require.

OnDemand PC Support

We recently commenced the field testing an OnDemand Support service so that we can provide one-time support and installation services to Windows users.

The service, which utilizes 256-bit SSL security,

  • requires you to request, thereby preventing unsupervised access to your PC.
  • works without reconfiguring of your firewall and router settings -- a great feature for travelling executives and work-at-home users.
  • is compatible with Windows Vista and UAC (User Account Control) features.
  • automatically removes all components after each use.
  • does not require Administrator Privileges in order to work.
  • takes less than 2 minutes to setup and connect.

The steps for obtaining OnDemand PC Support are outlined below:

  1. Using your browser, go to the link for OnDemandSupport.
  2. Read the onscreen instructions.
  3. Click on the line Download Now. When prompted, Run the program.
  4. The InstantHouseCall program will launch in the middle of your screen.
  5. On the General Tab, select either Technical Support or Installation Assistance to place your request.
  6. In the box at the bottom, please type your request.
  7. Place a checkmark in the box next to "I agree to my Specialist's Terms of Service".
  8. Press the Invite Button. If the Specialist is not online, you will be given 3 options. We recommend that you Leave a Message so that you can be contacted.
  9. If the Specialist is available you will see and hear a number of prompts. A floating message box will show that you are connected to the Specialist. And, you will hear a telephone ring while the Specialist is being paged.
  10. When the Specialist is connected, you can watch while the work is being performed.
  11. When the work is completed, the Specialist will disconnect and the program will automatically uninstall itself. Close the Window when this step indicates it has completed.
